As the COTE (Committee on the Environment) Chair, I wanted to offer you some online
resources to continue your personal and professional development in areas that are specific to sustainability, carbon reduction or just staying sane.
While the COTE ‘Elements’ talks (FIRE, WATER, AIR, EARTH) on the 4th Thursdays of the month have been postponed, the AIAMB will
be working on making those happen either virtually or when the shelter in place ordinance has been lifted and we can safely assemble.
In the mean time I offer some suggestions:
Sign up for the 2030 Commitment. (This has been at the top of my to-do list)
https://www.aia.org/resources/202041-the-2030-commitment
Learn about the 2030 Challenge:
https://architecture2030.org/2030_challenges/2030-challenge/
The mission of the AIA 2030 Commitment is to support the 2030 Challenge and transform the practice of architecture in a way that is holistic, firm-wide, project based, and data-driven. By prioritizing energy performance, participating firms can more easily work toward carbon neutral buildings, developments and major renovations by 2030.
