Tour of Fanshell House
Designed by Mark Mills
Wednesday, June 1, 6:00 P.M.
Fanshell House was designed by renowned, local Mid-Century Modern Master, Mark Mills. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home sits on 1.16 acres along 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach. Spanning 2,200 square feet, the home’s shape resembles a scallop shell, with the arches of five individual rooms framing a different angle of the stunning ocean views near Fanshell Beach. Inside, vaulted ceilings composed of concrete and wood beams form a fascinating, corrugated pattern that looks like a clam shell. Looking through the windows is like peering out from the inside of a large, partly opened two-valve clam shell.
The House Tour is free and open only to AIA Monterey Bay members and one guest each.
Noted local architectural historian, Kent Seavey, will be present to give brief remarks on the home. Wine and cheese will be served.
Note: Please park on 17 Mile Drive and save the driveway for drop off and for those with mobility issues.
Event is limited to 40 guests, reservations required, click here to reserve your place.
