Presenter: Cydney Payton is curator and writer who focuses on contemporary art and architecture. She holds an MA in Curatorial Practice from California College of the Arts, emphasis Architectural History and Theory.

The American Institute of Architects Monterey Bay in collaboration with the Monterey Museum of Art is presenting a lecture and conversation which will take a deeper look at the exhibition Morley Baer: Modernism in Northern California Architecture at the Monterey Art Museum, and curated by Cydney Payton. Payton will talk about her curatorial process and the questions that arose during her research. We will hear about findings as well as what research remains. Ideas related to the complicated histories between art and architecture and the photographic image will be put forward through selected architectural photographs taken by Baer. Cydney Payton is an American curator and writer. Her focus is contemporary art and architecture. Payton holds an MA in Curatorial Practice from California College of the Arts, emphasis Architectural History and Theory.
