The AIA Monterey Bay Emerging Professionals Committee is committed to encouraging growth in the career paths of our members. Currently to become a licensed architect in the State of California, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the California Architects Board (CAB) require prospective licensees to take the Architectural Registration Exam (ARE) administered by NCARB. Currently the NCARB ARE is in it’s fifth series, more commonly referred to as the ARE 5.0. Study materials are widely available from sources such as Black Spectacles, Ballast O’Hara PPI, Brightwood Architectural Education, and many more. For more information on the NCARB ARE 5.0 and how to better prepare yourself, check out NCARB’s website here: https://www.ncarb.org/pass-the-are/prepare
