Units: 1 LU\nCost: Free to AIA members\, sponsors\, students. $25 for the general public \nThis is a on-site tour of a Mass Timber building\, Building L\, on the Kresge College campus\, within the boundaries of the University of California\, Santa Cruz (UCSC). The building is a 6-story dormitory with 40 rooms which will accommodate approximately 100 students. The project addresses the student housing shortage at UCSC. Mass timber was selected for its sustainability benefits\, fire resistance properties\, and the opportunities it provides for prefabrication. Please register here. \nParking and meeting point information will be sent upon registration. \nAttendees are invited to a Happy Hour Mixer after the tour\, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.\, at FUSE Architects & Builders\, 512 Capitola Avenue\, Capitola 95010.
