DESCRIPTION:Frank Lloyd Wright’s Walker House: Lecture By Kathryn Smith\,\nSaturday\, May 20\, 2023\, Stanton Center\, 5 Custom House Plaza\, Monterey \nMonterey Area Architectural Resources Archive (MAARA) announces Frank Lloyd Wright’s Walker House\, an illustrated lecture by Kathryn Smith\, noted national Wright expert\, 6 pm – 7:30 pm\, May 20\, 2023 at Stanton Center\, 5 Custom House Plaza\, Monterey. Drawn from her recent publication based on unpublished sources including drawings\, letters\, historic photos\, and oral histories\, Smith will reveal the surprising story of how Wright designed and constructed his only built waterfront house. Extensive new exterior and interior photos document Wright’s unique artistry for Della Walker\, his client. The lecture is co-sponsored by the Carmel Heritage Society and AIA Monterey Bay. Smith has authored numerous books and articles on Wright and has lectured nationally. \nA book signing follows immediately after the lecture. \nAdmission is $10\, doors open 5:30 pm.
